WHAT IS AN AIRLESS PACKAGE?

An airless package is a non-pressurized system, combining a mechanical pump with a filled and sealed container - completely free of air - that allows a consistent dosage of a product to be dispensed air-tightly and without any air return. The difference between an airless packaging system and an ordinary system, such as an atmospheric system, is that when an ordinary system is pumped, the product dosage is replaced by the same amount of air. This creates the pressure that pushes the product out with the next pump.

With an airless system, the pressure that forces the product out is created mechanically, and no air is allowed into the product container. This protects the product from contamination and lengthens the overall product life, particularly for natural/organic and or highly sophisticated formulations. Airless packages are suitable for all kinds of textures, such as fluids, liquids, creams, gels and pastes and offer several advantages over other types of packaging including a stellar evacuation rate of nearly *100%, fewer pumps to prime, precise, metered dose dispensing and superior product preservation.
